Phatt Duck is Bowral-based husband and wife team Stephen and Teena Crooks. Phatt Duck is fresh ingredients – usually organic and free range – sourced from local suppliers. Phatt Duck is a range of full-flavoured food creations.

And Phatt Duck has flown into the Fitzroy Inn.

The Southern Highlands is changing.

Nestled just one hour from Sydney and sitting 500m above its seaside counterpart, the region boasts some of the very best wine growing conditions available along the east coast of Australia. With Award winning producers (such as Southern Highlands Wines) joining regional pioneers (Joadja Winery and Eling Forest), the Highlands are beginning to feel a lot more like the Hunter Valley than the sleepy regional centre that had preceded it.

Beyond the quaint, rustic charm and astounding natural beauty, it is the regions wineries, cafés, and restaurants that have been at the centre of a transformation that’s seen the Highlands become a true food and wine lovers destination. Seeking to continue in this vein our menu pairs rustic charcuterie tasting boards and contemporary Australian cuisine with a showcase of some of the regions premier wines.

Situated within the Fitzroy Inn Historic Retreat (c.1836), experience goes beyond just food and wine. The Inn and Restaurant ticks all the boxes, with seasonal picnic/wine baskets to be enjoyed throughout the Inn’s 5 acre gardens and a menu that celebrates some of the regions best boutique produce. The result is a venue that combines everything we’ve come to love about the Southern Highlands: innovative local produce, quality wines, good service and warm cozy rooms laid out across a picturesque, country backdrop. Only one hour from the heart of Sydney by road.
