The Fitzroy Inn was opened in 1836 and still to this day, holds so much history and original architecture - It’s old world meets new charm.
Entrance to the Fitzroy Inn has a long driveway, surrounded by luscious gardens. Entry way into the reception is at the front of the Inn, up a flight of stairs, to the right.
The Premium rooms are located on the ground floor of the Inn, facing the northern side of the manicured gardens.
Upon entering the room, you pass the entry way and common lounge room – where you can sit and enjoy the open fires in winter and read a book from our library.
The room itself is spacious, sophisticated and classic. The light filled room has windows and a door that allows access to our verandah. Feel free to step outside and sit out there and get some sun.
Moving further into the room, you find a study desk with magazines for your enjoyment. There are also chairs and a table for you to enjoy coffee at. Speaking of coffee, the coffee machine in your room makes a lovely cup!
Amenities such as an ironing board, iron and hangers are found in the wardrobe. There’s plenty of space in there to leave your clothing.
The beds are a king size with a beautiful timber frame and white linen.
The light coloured tones in the room make it peaceful and calm.
Once you’ve settled in your room, come and experience the history walk. The underground dungeon is something to experience – with original structure and architecture to admire. It’s also been nominated as the best example of an early Australian kitchen.
We have a library, billiard table and 5-acres of grounds to explore, including the first tennis court built in Australia if you wanted to enjoy a game.
The Dining Room is open most Friday and Saturday nights and a continental breakfast is available for all bookings.
Escape to the country and enjoy the Fitzroy Inn.
